No. Every Look player ships with Look CMS firmware pre-installed, so there is nothing to download or configure on the device. Connect the player, create a free Look CMS account and pair the screen. The first 14 days are free, which is enough time to build playlists, schedules and multi-zone layouts and see them run on the wall before you choose a plan.

Can I turn my TV into digital signage?

Yes. Any consumer TV or commercial display with a free HDMI port works with a Look player. The player turns it into a managed screen: you publish, schedule and update content from the cloud CMS instead of a USB stick. The player does the commercial-grade work, so the screen does not need to be a signage display: a regular TV in a café or break room is enough.

How do I connect a digital signage player to a screen?

Plug the player into the screen’s HDMI port, power it from the TV’s USB port or the adapter, and connect it to Wi-Fi. Log in to Look CMS, or create a free account, and link the screen with the pairing code it shows. From that point, content, schedules and settings are managed remotely, and nobody needs to touch the screen again.

Do I need one player per screen?

Yes, plan one player per display. Each Look player drives the screen it is plugged into, and each screen gets its own schedule in the CMS. If you want several pieces of content on one display, use Screen Layouts to split it into zones rather than adding hardware. Look does not stretch one canvas across several screens as a video wall.

Yes. Look Verde PRO pairs a 4 nm quad-core Cortex-A55 chip at 2.5 GHz with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, and outputs real 4K UHD with HDR. That is plenty for multi-zone layouts and 4K video on one screen. The newer chip uses less power and stays cooler when it runs 24/7, and portrait mode takes care of vertical screens.

Does the player need a power socket behind the screen?

No. Look Verde PRO runs straight off the TV’s USB port, so there is no power brick and no free socket needed behind the screen. Where the TV’s USB port cannot power it, use the power adapter in the box, which comes with interchangeable plugs for different regions, so the same player works wherever your screens are.

Can the player turn the TV on and off?

Yes. Look Verde PRO has full HDMI CEC support. It turns the TV on in the morning, picks the right input and switches it off again, all on the schedule you set in the CMS. No one needs to go around with a remote before opening or after closing, and screens will not be left on all night in an empty store, office or waiting room.

What happens when the internet goes down?

Scheduled images and videos keep playing from the player’s local storage, so the screen does not go dark in front of customers. Apps, web pages and live streams need a live connection and will not play until it returns. When the player is back online, it syncs whatever changed in the CMS while it was offline.

Yes, the players run on Look CMS, which is billed per screen. Plans start at $6 per screen per month on a yearly plan with volume pricing; monthly billing is $15 per screen. The first 14 days are free, so you can put a screen on the wall and try scheduling and layouts before you commit. Self-hosted on-premise licenses are also available.

Can I run Look on a player I already own?

Yes. The Look Player app is free and runs on Android, Google TV, Windows, Linux, Raspberry Pi, LG webOS, Samsung Tizen, Amazon Signage, Fire OS and macOS. On LG webOS and Samsung Tizen displays, the app runs on the screen itself, with no external player to buy. Teams choose Look hardware when they want every screen in the network on the same known device.

Do Look players work with an on-premise CMS?

Yes. You can use Look players with the cloud version of Look CMS or with a self-hosted, on-premise setup on your own servers behind the firewall. The on-premise version comes as a one-time lifetime license. Banks, hospitals and other organizations often choose it when their IT policy says content management has to stay inside their own network.

If a player is in stock, it leaves our warehouse within one or two days. Pre-orders ship within three weeks. We deliver worldwide, every order is tracked, and each box has a power adapter with the right plug for your region.
